The supply chain manager is in charge of all goods to consumer distribution. This includes the operational management and optimization of the supply chain, including customer service, warehousing and transportation.

  • Lead all reengineering efforts as they relate to supply chain management.


  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics for supply chain. Enact changes based on findings.


  • Develop and, if necessary, implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans in pursuit of risk management goals.


  • Facilitate, lead, and support logistic supplier relationships, and periodically conduct supplier capability assessments.


  • Regularly report on supply chain performance to executive team, Plant Manager, and other stakeholders.


  • Seek and establish ways to further align supply chain unit with the organization’s financial revenue goals.


  • Ensure that all reporting structures are well-established and follow blend with logistics activities, as well as freight and supply chain initiatives.


  • Maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of product.


  • Manage an annual budget or capital investment plan for supply chain functions across the organization.


  • Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action.


  • Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels.


  • Supervise a team of supply chain employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination.

 


  • University degree in business, with a focus on supply chain management, inventory control, manufacturing, or materials management.


  • 5-10 years of direct work experience in a supply chain management position.


  • Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.


  • Direct knowledge of disaster recovery plans and other business continuity strategies, as it relates to the supply chain.


  • Familiarity with supply chain management (SCM) software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and material requirements planning (MRP) software.


  • Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories.


  • Advanced logistic supplier negotiation abilities.


  • Familiar with enterprise-level track-and-trace systems


  • Hands-on experience with shipping, logistics, distribution, receipt management, vendor performance appraisal, and vendor return systems.


  • Experience or accreditation with Six Sigma is a benefit.


  • Good financial and business awareness.


  • Experience with radio frequency ID systems (RFID) and bar code systems is a benefit.


  • Knowledge of electronic data interchange (EDI) translation and transmission is a benefit


  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.


  • Strong proficiency with Excel, broad PC knowledge

  • Some travel may be required.


  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.


  • Able to physically inspect company property and assets.

As Supply Chain Manager, you will lead a diverse team in a cross functional environment, taking a lead role in the creation of long-term relationships at a senior client level and must possess strong knowledge base for leveraging prevalent methodologies. You will anticipate the long term, multifunctional impact of all decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving.

The successful candidate will act as the technical and commercial authority in all matters impacted through modern SCM theory. This role will work jointly with senior management, business unit heads, engineering and customer service to optimize commercial success.
