Coordinator, Prospect Management and Research: Huron University College
The Coordinator, Prospect Management and Research is responsible for contributing to the strategic plan of the Advancement Office through donor/prospect research with a particular emphasis on supporting major gift development and solicitation. This position supports the Advancement Office’s annual goals and all fundraising efforts by conducting research, analyzing data, utilizing publically available information, as well as data provided through internal and external sources, to prepare comprehensive written biographical and financial prospect profiles on individuals, corporations and foundations.
Additional responsibilities will include implementing and maximizing tools and methods such as analytics, data mining, predictive modeling and other appropriate metrics and reporting activities to effectively assess and prioritize leadership, major, principal and legacy gift prospects. This position will maintain accountability for donor/prospect management while engaged with Huron, including monitoring donor moves through the institution’s pipeline and bringing forward potential prospects to the fundraising team. This role requires exceptional diplomacy, foresight and sound judgement.
This is a five year employment contract, subject to annual review and renewal based on the continuation of funding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree.Masters of Library and Information Science(MLIS) would be considered an asset;
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ related work experience in prospect management/research, preferably within an educational environment;
- Knowledge of fundraising practices and principles;
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office suite and Raiser’s Edge database software;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively engage donors and the Huron Community;
- A strong commitment to customer service in all interactions with donors, and members of the public to represent Huron in a professional manner;
- Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks / deadlines and accurately complete work in a fast paced environment;
- Well-honed interpersonal skills with a proven track record in building relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Ability to work independently as well as with others to contribute to the success of the Advancement team;
