Digital Content Manager - E-commerce

This is a Digital Content Manager role with a bit of difference to your normal ‘get content change request, action content change request’ type roles of this nature. In this role you will be an integral player in a content transformation programme, as the business looks to re-think their approach in an effort to raise the quality of the e-commerce store for the consumer, making it more engaging and delivering an improved experience.

You will be joining this programme right at the initial stages, therefore you will be able to have a strong positive impact on shaping what will eventually be delivered, and also be responsible for project managing that delivery too.

You will also be responsible for providing leadership, coaching and support to the rest of the team in the absence of your line manager who works flexibly, so you can anticipate this to be quite a regular requirement.

Your core emphasis will be on looking at what can be done to improve the buying experience for consumers who are purchasing mobile phones, electronic devices, accessories, etc. Considering what content is needed (written copy, interactive media, etc), how this would be best presented, taking into account the needs of the consumer and what would best aid them in making a purchase decision.

You will be joining a team of around 12, and effectively second in command. Although your role doesn’t have official direct reports, you will be deputising for the team lead during periods of absence; therefore previous management experience would be highly beneficial.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing key support in project managing the transformation programme around digital content to further enhance the e-commerce experience

  • Managing the team when your manager isn’t present

  • Managing the work stack for site changes like price changes, new product launches, content updates as well as marketing efforts and campaigns – you will be supporting this hands-on as well as delegating work across the team, also ensuring high standards of delivery are consistently achieved

  • Ensure the Content Editors and Copy teams are producing consistency in their tone of voice, it meets brand guidelines and delivery is also on time

  • Producing your own copy, especially in line with the change programme, to demonstrate what ‘good’ looks like and able to enable the business to build an in-house capability in this space
