We have a position for a General Manager at the Rose & Crown in Mayfair, which is part of our Taylor Walker Brand.
Founded in 1730, the Taylor Walker brewery has been a mark of quality on British pubs for over 200 years. Spirit is proud to continue this heritage, with over 100 Taylor Walker pubs in city centres offering a warm welcome, great service and a traditional atmosphere. From real ales to fish and chips in historical buildings, we are creating the perfect British pub experience.

About the pub:
The Rose and Crown Mayfair is just off the Mall and opposite Hard Rock Caf two tube stations are close Green Park and Hyde Park Corner and buses are very close. The guest base comes from Tourists passing by and tour groups along with the local workers both office and retail.Recently sparkled last November the Rose and Crown has two bars one ground floor and one first floor that doubles up as a function room.

About the General Manager Job:
- Full control and accountability of your business.
- People management including recruitment, training & development, rota planning, performance management.
- Leadership and coaching of the team.
- Control over business P&L and other financial reporting.
- Cost control including ensuring team correctly manages stock and wastage, costs, and monitoring other outgoings.
- Ensuring every department operates inside company standards for quality and service.
- Proactively promoting the business as needed to increase revenue streams.
About you:
We are looking for General Managers who have a strong commercial understanding of our industry, with a proven ability to use effective communication and constantly looking for ways to develop and drive the business.
It is essential that you are confident and articulate in your communication and that you establish relationships with key support centre teams. You will need to be a natural leader and committed to creating and developing a great team through leading, coaching, managing and inspiring your teams whilst demonstrating shared behaviours and values.

About your development:
Before you start in your own pub we will ensure you receive the best possible induction into the company and the role. This will consist of working alongside one of our experienced New General Manager Trainers and gaining the essential knowledge and skills required to be a successful General Manager at Spirit.
You will also attend a 5 day-residential course at our Learning and Development Centre in Northampton. Here you will meet with support team members and senior management who will share knowledge to compliment what you have experienced in the pub.
Once you have completed this induction period and are managing your own pub you will be able to take advantage of the continued development opportunities offered through our core development programme which will help you to progress through our Career Pathway.
