Junior/Intermediate Web Designer: thehealthline.ca

We’re looking for a talented, creative and energetic individual to join a dynamic and innovative information organization with a focus in health care web and database design.

Job Duties:

Work streams and products the graphic designer will contribute to include the following:

• Web design, layouts, wireframes



• Web site implementation of design elements



• Contribute to discussions and conceptualize user-friendly interfaces



• Create mockups and prototypes to align with product specifications



• Translate high-level requirements into working designs



• Develop template websites using modern web technologies while working closely with the development team



• Design content for existing websites to provide information intuitively



• Adhere to accessibility guidelines and provide mobile-friendly interfaces

Qualifications and Experience:

 

• 2-3 years web design experience



• A strong portfolio demonstrating modern web technologies



• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and their best practices



• Solid experience designing with robust reusable frameworks in LESS/SCSS



• Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (i.e. Adobe In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)



• Skilled with the ability to produce digital content that works within responsive designs and across varying browsers and platforms



• Highly proficient in all design aspects



• Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines



• Experience with JavaScript is a plus



• Experience in design for print media is a plus



• Ability to work as part of a team with project managers and clients to discuss business objectives and project requirements



• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adhere to timelines and scope
