As West Ham embark on a momentous year saying goodbye to the Boleyn Ground and moving to their new Stadium in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we are looking for a Partnership Executive who will be part of the growing sponsorship activation team within West Ham United’s commercial department. Reporting to the Partnership Manager this individual will be responsible for the day to day management of the club sponsors and partners including Betway, Lycamobile and the Club’s kit partner Umbro.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a number of key partners of the club ensuring effective rights delivery, transitioning current sponsor portfolio to the new Stadium and growing our sponsor portfolio.
Main Responsibilities
- Day to day account management of key club sponsorships
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders and agencies
- Manage the full delivery of commercial rights
- Monitor, measure, and evaluate programs to ensure they are delivering against set objectives; provide POVs on how to increase ROI
- Ensure that all rights are delivered as per contracts
- Coordinate and manage internal stakeholders to integrate the sponsorship programs into their strategic plans. Manage pre match meetings and relevant actions
- Brief and manage (on and off site) external suppliers and agencies and ensure they deliver against contracts and to defined standard
- Apply problem solving techniques throughout planning phase and on-site to overcome any issues
- Research and plan new programs which deliver against client briefs
- Prepare and present program plans, timelines, status reports
- Ensure billing is up to date
- Remain up to date on industry standards and movements
- Assist Commercial Director in various operational and administrative duties from time to time

Abilities/ Skills/ Knowledge
- Must be highly motivated, confident and energetic worker who can self-start and work autonomously as well as part of a team
- The right candidate will be able to work simultaneously across a number of different projects; ensuring deadlines and budgets are met, marketing communications are maximised, that brand guidelines are adhered to & that the client’s business objectives are always top of mind in any program delivery
- Ability to work at pace and under pressure, can adapt to change and uncertainty and can build strong rapport and trust with your clients
- Have a clear understanding of how brands use sponsorships to drive softer brand measures, as well as the ability to identify and target defined consumer audiences
- We are looking for someone who is highly organised. Must be able to think laterally, confident enough to suggest new ways of working, have an excellent attention to detail, but not be bogged down by it (or process)
- Ability to travel – the role will require occasional travel (week day and week end) within the UK or abroad
Specific Experience
- Experience of working with senior level clients
- Experience of working within a professional sporting environment is advantageous
- Excellent understanding and experience of management of sponsorship contracts
- Experience of working with event organisers
Education, Qualifications, Training
- Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
