Human Resources Manager: Talentcor

Talentcor London is currently recruiting for a permanent Human Resource Manager for our client in Goderich.

Responsibilities to include:
Management


  • Collaborate with the senior management team to align Human Resources programs with the strategic business plan


  • HR point of contact for all external and internal Customer Audits and Quality Audits


  • Subject matter expert of all pertinent labour legislation


  • Ensure compliance and consistent application of HR and Health and Safety policies, programs and legislation in relation to applicable and current employment legislation:  ESA, OHSA, AODA, Pay Equity Act, Worker Awareness etc.


  • Oversee day-to-day administration of Human Resources function for the facility

Employee Relations


  • Manage diverse employee relations issues in a confidential and sensitive manner; including conducting and resolving investigations regarding complaints, terminations, talent management, conflict resolution, etc. 


  • Advise management on employee relations issues  * Key contact for employee, supervisory and managerial inquiries and requests relating to HR policies and practices.


  • Work closely with Health and Safety Manager to determine best practices for Safe Work Policies, Return to Work Program and WSIB claims management.

Talent Acquisition


  • Develop and manage recruitment strategy including coaching hiring managers on the recruitment process and providing support and direction at all phases of recruitment process including job postings, sourcing resumes, applicant screening, job fairs, and letters of offer. 

 Training and Development


  • Assess training & development needs of client group and provide recommendations


  • Develop and coordinate various training initiatives related to Human Resources and industry-related topics including new hire orientations, benefits education, management best practices, employment law and compliance training.


  • Oversee facility-wide training initiatives and requirements

Payroll and Benefits


  • Administration of Bi-Weekly payroll, while ensuring timely and accurate processing and recording. Processes all payroll changes, issues ROE’s, T4’s, remits statutory and benefit deductions and court-ordered deductions


  • Compliance with regulatory requirements


  • Liaison for supervisors and managers for payroll questions and concerns, including employee questions, system concerns or questions.


  • Manage the Extended Health and dental Plan, LTD, Group Life Insurance, RRSP and DPSP plans including contract negotiations and benefits renewal.

Performance Management


  • Oversee the annual performance appraisal process for all employees


  • Coach, advise, and assist management in the development of Succession Plans for key employees


  • Subject matter expert for performance related matters including all legislated requirements, performance management, policy implementation and interpretations.

Requirements


  • Superior communication skills (verbal, written, listening)


  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization


  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills


  • Expert knowledge of employment legislation


  • Proven leadership capabilities


  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills


  • Superb customer service skills and ability to work successfully in a fast paced environment


  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Education and Experience


  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience required in human resources in a manufacturing or similar environment


  • 5+ years’ experience in managerial capacity


  • 3-5 years’ experience in a H&S role is an asset
