Mechanical Designer: Armo-Tool Ltd

ARMO TOOL LTD.

 

An expanding London manufacturer of Precision Tooling, Dies and Special Machines has an IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time permanent Mechanical Designer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complete designs for complex automation systems



• Create detailed drawings optimized for proper machining techniques



• Working knowledge of material selection, finish and hardness



• Produce an accurate bill of materials and general assembly drawings



• Work closely with the engineering team to create and present new concepts

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• College diploma in mechanical design or equivalent



• 5 years of Solidworks experience



• A good understanding of AutoCad and Microsoft applications



• Knowledge of common fabrication and manufacturing techniques



• Experience in the field of automation including assembly, robotics, leak testing, etc.



• Hands on mechanical experience or trade apprenticeship are an asset

• Able to think creatively and solve technical problems with design solutions



• Excellent attention to detail by creating clear and well laid out engineering drawings



• Able to break down design into smaller manageable chunks, work to schedule and be responsible for delivering on time



• Flexibility to adjust schedule on short notice if project demand dictates



• You should naturally have a practical mind and with good mechanical logic



• Customer/service focused/team player, able to deal with internal and external customer enquiries or issues with mechanical designs
