We seek an Operations Assistant to support our locations in all Financial Bookkeeping and Payroll functions. This position will work with both the London InterCommunity Health Centre and the Woodstock and Area Community Health Centre in an 80/20 split. Broadly, the Operations Assistant is fully responsible for all Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions. This role reports to the Director of Finance and Operations and supports the Administration team while also functioning as a key member of the JHSC.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of responsibility in accounting and payroll positions;
- Working knowledge of applicable legislation that affects an organization from an employment perspective, such as Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety, CRA, etc
- Superior problem solving and time management skills ;
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- A demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships and influence others to a course of action;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail;
- Valid Drivers’ license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Competitive Qualifications (Assets in a Candidate):
- Working knowledge of ACCPAC and Microsoft GP;
- Payroll Practicioner designation (or in pursuit of);
- Previous Experience in Health and Safety;
- Joint Health and Safety certification an asset, will train;
- Previous experience in Human Resources Assistant Role;
- Experience with Charity Donations and Pension Plan Administration.
This position enjoys a supportive environment with flexible hours between 8-5pm, 7.5 hours daily, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday working primarily from our downtown office. This is a one year contract, with possibility of extension based on the needs of the business, the success of the candidate; as well as the funding provided to the Centre.
