RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Oracle Business Support Officer is toensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our clients’ ICT environments. This role undertakes technical Business As Usual and Project work on ICT applications in support of operational requirements as well as the implementation of new projects and technologies.
The role will support the delivery of a high quality support service within the area of responsibility, working as part of an effective team, ensuring the services are delivered in line with the SLA whilst providing a positive experience to the client.
You will be responsible for operational management and the application of Agilisys IT Services policies and standards, delivery of new projects and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of services within the Oracle team, in particular;
- Initiate, design and develop the corporate computerised management information systems to ensure existing procedures and practices. Correlate, co-ordinate and provide adequate business data.
- Analyse business data to ensure correlation of system/s modules across departments and specialist functions.
- Project manage specific work activities ensuring functional specifications are met, project plans produced and timescales/costs adhered.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of Oracle and Corporate Information systems to achieve agreed outcomes and standards, in support of all of the business areas, policies and procedures.
ROLE SPECIFIC:
- Reconcile data within systems, i.e: Income to general ledger, School devolved budget management, Payroll reconciliation to cash and general ledger.
- Evaluate software solutions against functional specifications and recommend solutions to correct faults.
- Investigate errors in systems and resolve with other departments and senior officer to rectify.
- Be fully conversant with the operation of the Corporate Computer System covering the following corporate functions: Finance, Human Resources and Payroll.
- Identify and produce policies and strategies for the development of the policies with reference to Corporate, Finance HR and Payroll System.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Relevant vocational/professional qualification/and or qualified by experience.
- High degree of computer literacy including sound knowledge of MS Office and Oracle Applications, specifically GL, AP, AR.
- Previous experience of evaluating software functionality.
- Significant practical user experience of software systems in Finance, HR and Payroll.
- Proven examples of working with others on a small project or with common goals.
- Experience of data analysis and reconciliation.
- Ability to evaluate, interpret and be analytical.
