Marketing Analyst




An opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Analyst to join our Marketing Analytics and Insight team at Kaplan International English (KIE).


A wholly owned subsidiary of Kaplan Inc, KIE enjoyed revenues of $600m in 2014 and employs over 4000 people worldwide. KIE operates 45 schools across the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, welcoming students from more than 150 countries around the world. Operating in multiple languages, the KIE marketing team is responsible for building and maintaining the brand and generating sales leads for our English language programmes through all online channels, with an increasing focus on video and social media. The team is made up of driven, passionate online marketers from around the world who thrive on the challenge of making KIE the first choice English language provider in all our major markets.


The role
As our Marketing Analyst, you will play a key role within KIE, assisting the Head of Analytics & Insights in developing and implementing a strategy to draw actionable consumer insights from data. These insights will aid in the development of all marketing plans: eCommerce, digital marketing, lead management and categorisation, communication and lifecycle strategies, social, online/offline channel interactions, as well as end-to-end user experience. This position will work with the Marketing department as well as its internal business unit ‘clients’, placing the customer at the centre of the business.


Key responsibilities


  • Build and manage reporting and analysis templates to report on business KPIs, using information drawn from Google Analytics (GA), Salesforce and other data sources. Develop automated reports and dashboards within analytics platform where appropriate.

  • Deliver commercially-valuable analysis, insights and action-orientated recommendations.

  • Work collaboratively with business partners to understand the businesses. Promote a culture of data-driven decision making and proactively inform stakeholders on key trends and performance indicators.

  • Audit and improve accuracy of marketing data from a variety of sources, including but not limited to: web analytics, performance media, SEO and CRM tools.

  • Ensure tag implementation and data collection is optimal and continuous across all publications, microsites and others, in conjunction with web product team and IT, proactively proposing enhancements and refinements.

  • Provide internal training to team members to ensure knowledge and usage of analytics is optimal.

About You


  • Degree educated or equivalent, in marketing, business administration or a related field.

  • Demonstrable experience and expertise with enterprise analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and online data analysis.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Curious and with ability to interpret data from multiple sources with extreme attention to detail.

  • Experience working directly with clients to interpret their needs and present solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Stays abreast of current trends and best practices in marketing analysis and tools/techniques.

  • Possesses knowledge on other tools used across the business for data intelligence, such as Salesforce, XLR and Class.

  • Experience with tag management solutions, such as Tealium.

  • Familiarity with contemporary digital analytical topics such as attribution, social analytics and mobile analytics.

  • Team player able to build and maintain strong working relationships with management and peers
