POSITION TITLE: HBA Recruiting Manager

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

 

The primary objective of the Manager of HBA Recruiting (the “incumbent”) is to work with the Director of HBA Recruiting and Admissions (the “Director”) to increase the number of high-quality students applying to and accepting offers from the HBA Program (the “Program”) from Canada and abroad, including to develop and manage relationships with AEO and HBA applicants at all stages of the recruiting and admissions process. The incumbent will support overall HBA enrolment objectives.

 

The incumbent is responsible for the management and continual improvement of Ivey recruiting activities. The incumbent manages in a “hands on” fashion the various phases of the recruiting process and is responsible, along with the Director, for managing the resources necessary to support the recruiting effort. Key activities include (a) planning and coordination of the Ivey Summer Leadership Program, a summer residential program for high school students, and planning or supporting other HBA Recruiting team initiatives, including: case competitions, on-campus and off-campus information sessions, AEO information sessions and other events; (b) planning and coordinating social media efforts for recruiting including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and others; (c) overseeing the representation of and representing Ivey at Canadian and international university fairs and information sessions, and (d) organizing the delivery of and conducting presentations at high schools and fairs, all to promote Ivey and attract prospective students to apply for AEO status and the Program.

 

The incumbent reports directly to the Director and works within a team that integrates all recruiting and admissions activities for the Program. The team is made up of the Director, the incumbent, the HBA Recruiting Associate (the “Associate”), the HBA Admissions Coordinator, the AEO Admissions Coordinator, the HBA Admissions Assistant Coordinator, and the HBA Recruiting Assistant (the “Assistant”).

 

It is critical that the incumbent makes a professional impression in both communication style and appearance, as this role will meet with current and prospective AEO and HBA students and their families, and with internal and external stakeholders, sponsors and others.

 

 
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:


  • University degree, Ivey HBA preferred


  • Three to five years relevant experience required


  • Demonstrated initiative; ability to manage multiple initiatives to completion within tightly prescribed timelines


  • Project management experience an asset


  • Event planning experience an asset


  • Data analysis experience an asset


  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to prospective applicants


  • A strong understanding of Social Media platforms


  • Experience using digital marketing tools (example: Google Analytics) to ensure SEO while demonstrating initiative in implementing online media concepts and functions


  • Sales or marketing experience an asset


  • Excellent computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.), Email Campaign software and database management


  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to make compelling presentations


  • Excellent analytical skills to monitor trends and recommend strategies to react accordingly


  • Demonstrated ability to present and articulate an idea, concept and/or factual information


  • Strong customer service and relationship management orientation


  • Excellent time management skills


  • Team player with a willingness to actively contribute to all activities and events related to the success of the Program


  • Ability to work effectively in a team and with many varied stakeholders


  • Demonstrated collaborative qualities


  • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally); possess a valid passport and driver’s license and be eligible for car rental agreements


  • Flexibility with work hours (occasional evenings, early mornings and travel overnight are regularly required throughout the year)


  • Vacation may be restricted at certain times of the year

 

Location: Ivey Business School, Western University, London, Ontario

This is a 2-year renewable contract position with full benefits.
