TThe Committee Office supports around 18 committees: the European Union Committee and sub-committees; sessional committees such as that on Communications and Constitution; ad hoc committees on various subjects and joint committees (together with the House of Commons). Committees conduct inquiries, resulting in reports to the House, alongside scrutiny work and other hearings. Each committee has its own staff, but there are also central roles supporting all committees. Each committee has a committee assistant, responsible to the clerk for all the secretarial and administrative services required to enable the committee to function. Qualifications A minimum of 2 A levels at Grades A to C, or equivalent.
