Job Summary
Care UK are recruiting for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner at our North Central London Out of Hours. This is an exciting opportunity to add to your career portfolio.
In this role you will be delivering face-to-face and telephone services enabling patients to obtain health advice from the appropriate health care professional. You will be responsible for assessing patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge them or refer them as appropriate to other healthcare professionals / external agencies. This will include prescribing for patients as required. You will need to have experience as an autonomous Nurse Practitioner, will hold a Nurse Prescribing certificate and be competent to prescribe for patients and ideally have experience within an Out of Hours/Urgent Care environment.

Key Responsibilities
To be successful in the role, you will have:
•Nurse-led management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries
•Recent primary and community nursing experience
•Recent experience of face-to-face patient care
•Experience of patient contact services and / or primary care nursing
•Ability to think logically, to make decisions, cope with stress and work with all levels of staff
•Excellent communication skills
•Good listening skills
•To possess imagination and intuition
•To be confident in autonomous face-to-face patient interactions
Desirable:
•Experience of working independently within Nurse Practitioner / Specialist role
•Evidence of research or study into extended roles for nurses in primary care
Skills & Experience
•Understanding of patient management in primary care setting.
•Sound understanding of legal / professional implications of independent practice
•Sound knowledge of local primary care services including key players
•Experience of working independently within Nurse Practitioner / Specialist role
•Experience of patient contact services and / or primary care nursing
•Recent experience of face-to-face patient care
•Evidence of recent study (PREP)
•Excellent communication skills.
•Good listening skills
•To be confident in autonomous face-to-face patient interactions.
•Be able to demonstrate wide knowledge base.
Qualifications

•RGN
•Degree level / Postgraduate level ANP Qualification
•Evidence of recent study (PREP)
•Recognised Non-Medical Independent Prescribing Qualification
•Postgraduate Teaching/ Mentorship Course e.g. ENB 998
•BLS
•Level 3 – Face to face Child Protection training (within last 3 years) and Level 1 e-Learning in the years in between (Safeguarding Board requirement)
Desirable:
•Further professional qualification e.g. District Nurse (DN) / Health Visitor (HV)
•Immediate Life Support (ILS)/ Advanced Life Support (ALS)
