 We are currently seeking applicants for the position of  Community Services Supervisor . We are looking for innovative individuals who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career. 

Position Description:  In accordance with legislation, policies, directives and funding guidelines, the Supervisor will provide leadership and supervision to staff team through coaching and mentoring to achieve program outcomes; to undertake a significant community involvement strategy that makes connections with community organizations and services that creates opportunities for people, which ultimately leads to the goal of community inclusion.  The Supervisor of Community Services will assist the Manager of Community Services to identify, develop, implement and supervise leisure, recreation, supported volunteerism, and lifelong learning opportunities for people with developmental disabilities of all ages, with a particular focus on the aging population.  This position will take a leadership role in leveraging resources and collaborative opportunities to create innovative options for people. 

EDUCATION:



University Degree or Community College Diploma in relevant discipline or approved equivalent. 
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 


  • Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance


  • Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of an acceptable driving record.


  • Must be prepared to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and travel as required.

EXPERIENCE:


  • 4 years working experience in Social Services sector.


  • Experience in working with people with developmental disabilities


  • Familiarity with supports and services for an aging population.


  • Experience working in collaboration, developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all stakeholders.


  • Experience in a unionized work environment and familiarity with collective agreement


  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance Measures and Personal Outcome Measures


  • Commitment to individualized approaches to service delivery and accountability

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES


  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and management skills to positively motivate employees.


  • Demonstrated ability advocating on behalf of people.


  • Ability to effectively manage program delivery as per CLL’s vision, Mission and Strategic plan.


  • Ability to manage financial and human resources.


  • Ability to promote a culture of Trust and Innovation.


  • Ability to leverage resources and utilize collaborative opportunities to create innovative options.


  • Strong problem identification and creative problem solving/resolution skills.


  • Ability to work independently and within a team.


  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.


  • Ability to complete funding reports, applications and outcome reports


  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills,


  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and mediate differences


  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and strong time management skills.


  • Knowledge of Supervisory responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
