Consolidation Accountant
This role is a challenging opportunity to work on an innovative new format for the Whole of Government Accounts project with a major department in central Government. The position will involve working closely with the WGA team to ensure that the group consolidations are completed within the allocated time frame and to ensure that all aspects of the production of the WGA are compliant with the Financial Reporting Manual.

Description
The role will involve:
*To lead on the development and implementation of the new WGA process as part of the new reporting approach
*Analyse and perform two WGA dry-run exercises planned for the spring and summer of 2016 to produce the WGA returns
*Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, working with them to manage any risks or issues that emerge
*Liaise with the NAO with regards to any aspect of the NAO returns
*Liaise with HMT and the NAO to ensure that the new WGA methodology has no technical issues
*Support the WGA project team to ensure that all project deadlines are met
*Provide specialist financial advice to the wider finance function
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
*Qualified accountant
*Experience of accounting systems. Knowledge of Oracle based RM systems is desirable
*Excellent Excel skills
*Experience and knowledge of government accounting and budgetary framework including
Whole of Government Accounts
*Fantastic organisational and time management skills
