Editor - London, Ontario: Diply

Weekend Editor – Thursday to Monday

The Position



Diply is seeking a creative editor who loves the entertaining and engaging stories going viral online. As an editor, you will be responsible for editing articles (copy-editing, fact-checking, stylistic and substantive editing, etc.), providing clear feedback to the team, updating management on writers’ progress, training new writers and editors on our internal CM, and gauging the cuteness level of cat gifs from time to time.

Skills and Experience

• You pay close attention to detail.



• You have an excellent command of the English language.



• You can assess and suggest changes for issues like flow, tone, and structure.



• You possess exceptional organizational skills.



• You will consistently provide clear and constructive feedback to writers.



• You can work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet demanding deadlines.



• You quickly familiarize yourself with new tools.



• You ensure accurate sourcing and consistent formatting.



• You can liaise with other members of the editing team and provide updates on progress.



• You are able to identify and report issues to the development team as they arise.



• You are ready to learn, have fun, and enthusiastically look at pictures of internet dogs (even if you’re a cat person).



• You work well independently and as part of a team.

• You are excited by the prospect of working closely with your team to aid in their growth as writers and are comfortable with providing feedback.



• You are very familiar with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, Imgur, Pinterest, and Instagram.
