Electrician / Mechanical Technician : Sodecia Global Tech & Automation Centre
We are a quickly growing automation company with the opportunity for a fulltime Electrician / Mechanical Technician to join the technical center in London, Ontario.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switch gears, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems and devices.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records in accordance standards established by the Company.
- Checking material and layout for assembly of control panels and enclosures
- Wiring the systems using engineered drawings, including following standard procedures and codes.
- Build / wire electrical control panels, wire automated equipment, debug start-up of new machines.
- PLC programming and modification of existing automated production equipment.
- Responsible for producing markers and correctly applying them to wiring and component
- Lays out panels or electrical installations according to specifications
- Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
- Lay out, assemble, install, connect and test electrical fixtures, control equipment and wiring.
- Work will include electrical panel wiring/building. terminating cables, etc.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: - Completion of Industrial electrician apprenticeship program.
- College or industry courses in industrial electrical equipment.
- Trade certification (Electrical Required).
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in the trade.
- Understanding of all aspects related to manufacturing of automotive stamping, welding, processing and automation.
- Must be able to work independently and in team setting and ask for expertise of others when needed
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain timing deadlines.
- Integration experience
- Must be able to travel internationally
