Part Time Community Support Worker- Contract to September 2017: Anago (Non) Residential Resources Inc.

The successful candidates will assist in coordinating and supporting a community integration program for individuals with developmental and physical challenges. Staff will be responsible for program development, creating and supervising community placements, life skills teaching, activity schedules, and supporting individuals with basic care and behaviour management. Successful applicants will have a solid knowledge of opportunities in the community, and the ability to advocate on the behalf of individuals. Hours of work average 15 hours per week, shifts will be based on the needs of the individuals in the program.
Qualifications:
- Able to establish therapeutic relationships on the basis of respect and trust
- Ability/willingness to lead individuals through a process of self-evaluation and goal setting consistent with Cognitive Behavior Theory and Lead Management
- Ability to work independently in the delivery of services on shift, as well as within a team
- Ability to write clear, concise observations of behaviour
- Proven computer skills, MS Office preferred
- Ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions based on Policies & Procedures
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills; attention to detail
- Strong communication skills – written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of the team
- Valid Ontario (G) Driver’s Licence, current Police Records Check with Vulnerable Position Screening, Current First Aid and CPR Certificate and CPI Certificate
- DSW/Post Secondary in a related field or equivalent
- Experience in community support services for individuals with both developmental and physical challenges.
- Two (2) years field related experience required
Work Location: London Connect – London, ON
Starting Salary: $20.04 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
