Fire and Asbestos Manager




Are you a Fire Safety Manager looking for a new permanent role? Have you got a vast amount of experience working within social housing or local authorities?

My client is G15 housing association based in London. They are now seeking a Fire Safety Manager on a permanent basis. The role will consist of the following responsibility but not limited to:


*To develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the departments’ fire and asbestos programme and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
*Advising and training staff and service providers on health & safety regulations; providing advice on all health, safety and sustainability issues and assisting in the development of suitable internal and external objectives and targets.
*Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
*To oversee compliance with asbestos management regulations through the asbestos database.
*Develop communication initiatives and learning opportunities for all staff on Compliance.
*Develop an effective suite of Key Performance Indicators to measure that Compliance with legislation and regulation is achieved. Provide these Key Performance Indicators to the Group H&S Advisor for Board Reports.
*Manage and monitor the fire risk assessment programme, deliver continued training to the fire risk assessors, as identified by quality audits.
*Provide technical guidance to Family Mosaic on all Fire Safety matters and keep abreast of any changes to legislation or regulation that might affect your role.
*Lead on competency and compliance checks, including co-ordination of arrangements with contractors and consultants.
*Ensure all incidents and accidents are recorded as appropriate and as required
*Ensure effective training programmes are in place throughout the department and they are effectively tailored and delivered to ensure people at all levels are aware of their responsibilities.
*Develop and implement suitable training programmes for the Risk Assessment Team.
With your extensive experience as a Fire Safety Manager, you will be able to deliver excellent service and ensure the housing association stick to the fire safety regulations and stay compliant.
