Data and Reporting Analyst: Canaccede




Canaccede Financial Group is a specialized investment and financial services firm focused on the acquisition of Canadian consumer customers.  The company works with large lenders and financial institutions in the insolvent, distressed and performing receivables industry.  The new-dollar lending arm, Affirm Financial, is a consumer finance company offering innovative personal loan and credit card products to the non-prime market in Canada. It primarily focuses on financially responsible individuals who need to reestablish their financial footing due to unexpected life events (divorce, illness, loss of employment). The company philosophy is based on helping individuals obtain credit where traditional lenders failed to do so.  The company believes in responsible lending practices and abides by all provincial and federal laws pertaining to traditional financial institutions.

Canaccede has offices in Toronto, ON and London, ON. 


Reporting to the Director, Analytics, the Data and Reporting Analyst will work as part of the Decision Sciences team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting data from internal and external systems, designing and disseminating regular and ad-hoc reports, monitoring and reporting on operational performance and trends, performing financial and non-financial forecast modeling, and execution of departmental initiatives.  The position will cover both the investment and financial services areas of the organization, with focus on operational and marketing performance, credit risk and investment management.


  • Prepare a standard reporting package on regular intervals for departmental leaders.  Provide regular analysis and assessment on the reporting and trends.


  • Develop and implement predictive models based on quantitative data and portfolio experience.


  • Aggregate large amounts of data from various disparate sources for the purposes of reporting, analysis and review.


  • Prepare accurate, timely and organized reports to the management team highlighting key performance and credit quality observations of the business.


  • Develop deep subject matter expertise in all stages of the business, including data extraction, interpretation, validation, and presentation.


  • Assist in migrating standard reporting from a manual process to an automated processing using staged data.


  • Respond to ad-hoc report and analysis requests.


  • Prepare presentations to managers, executives, financial partners and external stakeholders outlining key considerations and conclusions in a clear and effective manner.


  • Take on departmental projects and see them through from concept to execution.


  • Provide recommendations to management regarding key observations and trends within the business, including appropriate responsive actions.


  • Additional duties and projects as required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or Statistics


  • MBA (Finance or Marketing) is an asset


  • SAS Institute Certification is an asset


  • Excellent analytical skills and creative problem solving skills.


  • Solid knowledge of multiple software languages: SAS (PC and Host), SQL, Oracle


  • Must be proficient with MS Office -Excel (macros), MS Access (including queries, forms, reports and macros)


  • Experience accessing, compiling and analyzing large volume data into usable information utilizing SAS and SQL server database programming


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff


  • Experience developing, managing and/or operating data collection & analysis processes in the Fintech field


  • Clustering, link analysis and predictive modeling skills are a plus


  • Candidates will be required to attend for interview. Candidates will also be required to complete an Excel based case study and industry knowledge test. 

This position will be based in London with occasional need to travel to between locations.
