Spring Designer/Maker: Randstad Engineer

Our client in Brantford has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Spring

Designer/Maker. The Spring Designer/Maker will be responsible for verifying spring design; work with

the customer when required and performs the feasibility study and production estimate.

Responsibilities:


– Verifies the design and determines whether a product can be produced in a cost efficient manner



– Ensures customer drawings are acceptable and specifications are within proper tolerances.



– Participates in the organizations Continual Improvement program based on ISO/TS 16949 Quality



  management systems.


Requirements:


– Reads and interprets incoming quotes and drawings.



– Performs spring design analysis using the computerized systems.



– Determines if the product can be manufactured to customer’s requirements.



– Estimate how long the required set up will take and the number of parts per hour.



– Determines appropriate work center for production



– Completes estimate input form, documenting any special information or recommended improvements,



– Forwards the appropriate documentation to the Quality Dept. for review



– Consults with customer to resolve design conflicts



– Contributes to the organization’s continual improvement


Skills and Experience


– Excellent Knowledge of spring making/designing (wire forms/compression/torsion/extension)



– Excellent math skills



– Good communication skills



– Thorough knowledge of manufacturing environment



– Good computer skills



– Experience with Wafios, Itaya, Nucoil or KHM will be an asset



– Experience with SMI or IST software is a MUST
