thehealthline.ca Information Network is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping consumers and providers navigate the complex healthcare system, so that people get the care they need, when and where they need it.

Beginning as a small regional database, thehealthline.ca has grown to encompass all of Ontario, with more than 44,000 health and community service listings. It consists of 14 regional web sites aligned with the borders of Ontario’s Local Health Integration Networks and one provincial portal.

We’re looking for a talented, creative and energetic individual to join a dynamic and innovative information organization with a focus in health care web and database design to fill a new Intermediate Software Developer position. You will provide full-stack web solutions from client-side down through data services in the backend. We require a strong server-side developer with a passion for problem solving and developing simple solutions to complex problems.

Optionally, the ideal candidate would also be able to assist our IT and Network Support. They would be able to help troubleshoot server hardware and network configuration, monitor network performance, and provide assistance in emergencies.

 

• Collaborate with management and the development team to provide web application solutions



• Write modular and testable code in an Agile environment



• Translate high-level requirements into reliable applications



• Perform ongoing upgrades and maintain an existing code base



• Troubleshoot errors and solve problems efficiently



• Stay current on upcoming technologies

 

• 4+ years of development experience



• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience



• Strong knowledge of C# and .NET MVC and the ability to create reusable code within internal frameworks



• Strong knowledge of relational databases and the ability to write complex and efficient queries in T-SQL



• Proficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and their best practices



• Ability to solve problems independently and a knack for problem solving with an analytical mindset



• Ability to actively communicate with management and adhere to timelines and scope



• Solid experience in IT and Network Support
  
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, and Google Cloud Services
  
  
  
  • A+ or Cisco CCNA certifications is a plus
