We are currently recruiting for Clinical Advisors to join our NHS 111 Service in Southall London to manage calls from members of the public with non-emergency, urgent care needs and direct the caller to the best service suitable to meet their needs.


We have a number of part time roles available to cover evenings and weekends. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team and develop your career within 111. As part of this role you will need to commit to a part time training course over evenings for 6 weeks or full time course Monday-Friday for 4 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Advisor, you will be providing safe and effective telephone advice, health assessment and information to the general public and healthcare professionals. You will help to support Health Advisors to use the NHS Pathways system to ensure that quality, evidence based health care is delivered to patients and that accurate and immediate records are kept, including assessment and advice given using NHS Pathways guidelines.


You will need to maintain competencies in line with the defined framework defined by the NHS Pathways license requirements and comply with all policies and regulations relating to clinical governance and patient confidentiality.


You will receive full NHS Pathways and system training to equip you for the role and you will be supported by Clinical Supervisors and the Lead Clinician. In return we can offer you the chance to enhance your clinical skills in a new environment, supported by an experienced leadership team and comprehensive IT systems.


Skills & Experience

• Currently working as a Paramedic or as a Nurse in an acute setting such as A&E, Medical or Surgical Assessment units or similar environment
• Patient and quality focused
• Understanding of Health Advisor role
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and support others
• Good communication, organisational & administration skills
• Relevant computer skills including MS Office packages
• Willingness to learn new skills


Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or State Registered Paramedic with relevant post registration experience
• Would also suit a RSCN, RMN or RHV with relevant experience.
• Evidence of Post registration study and qualification
• Management / Leadership experience an advantage
