Payroll Assistant




We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to support our team with the smooth running of the payroll department by providing a quality customer focused service.


As Payroll Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:


  • Supporting the Payroll Manager and Senior Payroll Officer to ensure that the monthly payroll is processed promptly and the salaries are paid on the due date.

  • Handling payroll queries and assisting with the input of all variable information received by the department.

  • Ensuring that a high quality and proactive service is provided to all internal and external customers.

In order to be successful in the role, the ideal candidates will need the following:


  • Experience of working in a Payroll function and of using a payroll provider to process payments.

  • An understanding of legislative requirements.

  • Experience of dealing with payroll from start to finish.

  • Excellent communication skills, a methodical approach to work and good attention to detail.

  • The ability to prioritise, manage time and work effectively to tight deadlines.

  • Good working knowledge of Excel (including v-look ups), Word and PowerPoint.

Salary: £24,254 – £27,103per annum
