We provide strategically designed installations and customized creative to enable brands to effectively communicate with audiences in ways they never imagined. Using proprietary, state-of-the-art technology, and patented software, we have developed some of the world’s largest and most complex digital merchandising networks.



 



The Cineplex Digital Media division of Cineplex Entertainment Limited Partnership currently has an opening for the position of Senior Software Developer, reporting to the Software Development Manager, Cineplex Digital Media. This position will be based out of our Cineplex Digital Media office located at 369 York Street in London, Ontario.



 



This software development role focuses on delivering rock solid embedded software for the client media engine and various display and interactive devices within customer locations.



 
The major responsibilities include:


  • Design and develop highly available and performant applications on a variety of hardware platforms.


  • Contribute in a collaborative, agile, team environment.


  • Problem determination and resolution.


  • Design and implement automated unit tests and integration tests.


  • Contribute to design and code reviews, provide feedback and recommendations.


  • Create technical documentation outlining project scope, solutions, designs, and deployment.




 
Education and Experience:



  • Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent training and experience.


  • Hands-on software development experience in a Linux environment


  • Good understanding of OO principals and design patterns.


  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills


  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills


  • Practical knowledge of C/C++, Javascript, node.js


  • Experience and knowledge of agile software development methodologies and best practices is an asset


  • Familiar with source control systems (e.g. git or svn), issue tracking systems (e.g. JIRA) is an asset
